A friend who cultivates Flammulina velutipes may encounter a situation in which the Flammulina velutipes grows untidy. This happens mainly due to improper management of the mushrooming period. Here are some precautions for the irregularity of Flammulina velutipes:

1. Flammulina bud period. Take the bud management measures, open the door and window of the mushroom house, enhance the light and ventilation, spray the water to the space, increase the relative humidity of the mushroom room to about 90%, cool down to about 10 °C, and loosen the mouth of the bag to induce the mushroom bud. The occurrence of this, but must not open the plastic film of the bag at all, in order to prevent the evaporation of water from the culture material, affecting the formation of mushroom buds. A few days later, when cotton-like hyphae or yellow water drops appeared on the culture surface, the mouth of the bag was opened, and after about 1 week, needle-like mushroom buds were successively grown.

2. Flammulina mushroom domestication period. When the fruiting body grows to about 1 cm, it is necessary to reduce or stop the water spray, and the humidity is controlled at about 75%. Ventilation is cooled, and the temperature is adjusted to about 5 °C. After domestication, restore and maintain the temperature of the mushroom house at around 10 °C to promote the growth of fruiting bodies.

3. Flammulina velutipes elongation period. Take measures to promote rapid elongation of the stipe.

(1) Sleeve and straighten the mouth of the bag. When the fruit body grows to 2-3 cm, the excess film of the plastic bag mouth should be opened and lifted straight, which can limit the oxygen supply and increase the concentration of carbon dioxide. The purpose is to inhibit the opening of the cap and promote the elongation of the stipe. (2) Temperature adjustment. The temperature is controlled at about 10 °C. (3) Humidification. The relative humidity of the air should be kept at 85-90%. The mushroom room should be sprayed with water and moisturized. The amount of water spray increases with the growth of fruiting bodies. (4) Low light induction. In the middle of the two rows of bed frames, a 15 watt bulb is installed every 3-5 meters to produce vertical light, which induces the fruit body to extend in the direction of the light source, which promotes the elongation of the stem. (5) Regulate carbon dioxide concentration. By reducing the number of times and time of ventilation, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the air of the mushroom house is maintained at 0.1%-0.15%. Through the above management measures, after about 15 days, the Flammulina velutipes products with a good biocaps of about 1 cm in diameter and 8-15 cm in length can be produced.
