1) Calculation of bending strength:

Where: бt—bending strength, MPa; P—bending load on the specimen, MN; L-span, mm;


B-sample width, mm; h-sample thickness, mm.


2) Calculation of flexural modulus:


Et=(L3/4bh3)(P/Y)


Where: Et-bending elastic modulus, MPa; L-span, mm; b-sample width, mm; h-sample thickness, mm;


P-load at the linear portion of the load-deflection curve, N; Y-load corresponding deflection, mm.


3. Influencing factors of test results


The state adjustment of the sample, the test environment, and the bending speed have a certain influence on the bending performance. In addition, the measurement of the sample size, the adjustment of the test span, the line contact and vertical condition of the indenter and the sample, and the adjustment of the zero point of the deflection value all have certain influence on the test results.
