The rescue team must appoint a physician (or many physicians) because it is not always a medical rescue team involved in the rescue.

It may be the case that the rescue team is waiting for medical aid personnel to arrive on the spot. Therefore, rescue workers must have the ability to protect the lives of the injured and identify potentially life-threatening conditions. The field commander needs to know this information in order to formulate the correct plan.

The initial priority of team physicians is to determine the condition of the injured. When multiple injuries are involved, the team physician must identify and classify the injured (a quick assessment of how to use the initial medical resources). The fact that multiple injuries were involved in the accident meant that the initial priority was to care for the injured, and technical assistance was postponed until more resources arrived at the scene.

Once the wounded condition has been determined, a quick assessment must be made:

1. Did they react?

2. Didn't they respond?

The need to quickly care for the unresponsive wounded person, especially if the injured person is not breathing well. It is important to arrive at these wounded people.

Once inside the vehicle, the physician can perform a full inspection and report their situation to the on-site commander.

During the entire rescue process, medical information must be reported to the field commander, and any changes in the condition of the injured person must be communicated in a timely manner.

Once the entire space has been created, the physician (or the person responsible for maintaining the cervical spine) must direct the rescue phase and control is transferred from the on-site commander to the physician.

If the technical rescue team first arrives on site, the physician must transfer all medical information to the imminent medical staff (doctors, nursing staff, etc.) when needed.
