【Abstract 】 This paper briefly introduces the development of ceramic pill, highlights the advantages of ceramic pill and its application in aerospace industry and other industries, and looks forward to its future development and application potential.

1. The development of ceramic pills

Ceramic materials are highly favored by the industry because of their high strength and hardness and environmental pollution, and are widely used in the manufacture of various parts, abrasives and media. In the shot peening industry, ceramic pellets have long been considered to be ideal shot peening media, but due to the complexity of their original manufacturing processes and the high rate of breakage of projectiles, they have not been widely accepted, adopted and promoted by the industry for many years.
In the early 1980s, Zirpro of France successfully developed ceramic pellets for shot peening using a sintering method. At that time, ceramic pellets were expensive and low in density, and the pellets were often found to be broken during use. The high price and high crushing rate severely limit the application and promotion of ceramic pellets.
In recent years, Zirpro of France has adopted a variety of patented technologies in the manufacture of ceramic pellets, which not only ensures the density of the projectiles, but also reduces the manufacturing costs. In addition, the United States, Germany, Japan and China have also adopted various advanced processing and manufacturing technologies, and have successfully developed ceramic pellets and applied them to the shot blasting industry. Because ceramic pellets have unique advantages, they have been promoted and applied in the aerospace industry, and continue to develop into other industries.
